Leicester Tigers Community Day

13 Jul 2022

On Wednesday 13th July we invited some of our young people to join us at the Welford Road Stadium to participate in a community day with the Leicester Tigers. This community day was a huge success, and we can’t wait to be working with the Leicester Tigers in the not too distance future.

Our day started by learning some of the basic rules of rugby. We learnt how to score a try and how to hold the ball when passing. Once we practised this, we moved onto playing a small game of touch rugby. This game worked on our passing the ball and ensuring we were always behind the person who was passing. Some of our young people scored some amazing try’s!

At this community day we also got involved in games like catapulting, hockey, archery, and football. These were lots of a fun and good opportunity to explore different sports some of young people had never participated in.

We were all very excited to be invited to the Welford Road Stadium and for this community day to take part in the final whistle! At the end of the session, we were lucky enough to be shown around the stadium and down to the pitch! It was really interesting to see them developing the stadium whilst it isn’t rugby season!

Everyone at this session showed determination, perseverance, a willing to have a go and take positive risks.
