Snowdome trip

On Monday 17th February, our Children’s and Young People team took a group of young people we support to the Snowdome in Tamworth for a day of adrenaline tubing and snowplay, which involved hurling snowballs at each other, which was incredibly fun, with most of the snowballs aimed at Carrie Nice, our Children and Young People’s Activity Officer.

It was wonderful to see the young people all try out each activity and see how they became more and more confident as the day went on. They worked together as a team encouraging each other to have a go.

For many of them it was their first time away on an activity without their parents, so a big step for our families and young people.

The day ended with a lovely well-deserved meal at Frankie and Benny’s which was the only time there was pure silence after an exciting day and lots of fun was had by all.

Kid’s Night Out

On Tuesday evening we went on a ‘Kid’s Night Out’, to Attenborough Arts Centre. We had lots of fun doing a quiz and karaoke. The quiz included many rounds, including guess the Disney song, make a farm out of playdough and a quick guestimation round. It was a lovely evening where all the children and their families got involved. Especially at karaoke and open mic night, we had lots of children singing solos, telling jokes and we even got the dad’s up to sing ‘Girls just wanna have fun’! It was wonderful to see the children all getting involved and feeling confident with each other.

Escape Rooms

On Friday we took 2 groups of children and young people come to the escape room. Working as a team we had to find the clues to get out of each room, within the timeframe. Both groups successfully completed the escape rooms, with only minutes to spare. We did get lucky on the first group, when a door opened when it wasn’t meant too! We had lots of fun and was very competitive trying to get out of the escape room!
