Vista's Children and Young People enjoyed some yoga

1 Aug 2022

On Monday 1st August some of our children joined us for a peaceful morning of yoga! This was a great session as we were all able to slow down and take some mindful minutes. This session was run with Blossom Yoga! The session started by warming up through some simple stretches. Each child was then given a windmill to hold whilst doing some more stretches. It was interesting to see how the windmill moved in each position, this also helped each child to think about and focus on their breathing. We then began to read a yoga story book, this was called the bee who couldn’t fly! In this book we met a bumble bee called Mari, as we read through the book together the children completed some yoga positions to demonstrate different parts of the story! In the end each child was able to help Mari fly! At the end od the session two of the children who were participation wanted to show us some yoga moves which they knew. It was great to see these children take on the role of being the teacher!

One family said, “Fun way to exercise, it as an exciting story. Thank you!”

Another family said “Fun, enjoyable, good exercise. Thank you.”
